É hoje a palestra do prof. Simmons no Rio Grande do Sul, sob patrocínio do Instituto Liberdade.

Quem é Simmons?

He is also the coauthor of Beyond Politics: Markets, Welfare, and the Failure of Bureaucracy, a primer on the economics of government.

Dr. Simmons specializes in applying the assumptions and methods of economic reasoning to policy issues, especially those on the environment and natural resources. Currently his research includes studying market mechanisms for preserving endangered species. Dr. Simmons has been an analyst in the Office of Policy Analysis at the U.S. Department of the Interior, and is currently a member of the Providence City Council, Utah.

Dr. Simmons received his Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from the University of Oregon, and his B.A. in political science from Utah State University.

Além disso, é um dos autores do "Para Além da Política" (editora topbooks) que é um livro bacana para quem nunca leu sobre "Public Choice". Aliás, se você quiser saber mais sobre isto, consulte este blog.
